Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November in 1966. She is a model as well an Irish actress. Her debut film part as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985) and then went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was invited by a professional photographer. It led to a successful modeling career in the commercial world. Doody was adamantly against the glamour of thongs, nakedness and nudity in her modelling career. In 1985, following being noticed by the directors of casting for the James Bond new film, Doody took a small part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was still only aged 18 at the time of her appearance in the Bond role. Today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying featuring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody appeared as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking probably her most high-profile part ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody appeared alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody appeared in the 1991 British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publication scam. Doody then relocated to Hollywood. She starred as Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After nearly a decade from the screen Doody was back in the acting world with a small role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. Doody was a co-star, along alongside Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). She received the Almeria film award on November 21, 2018.
